Newly-appointed Truckline national operations manager Phillip Stanton is pleased with the company’s performance but says there is room to improve back-end spare parts systems to help front line staff deliver better results for customers.

Headquartered in Brisbane, Truckline has 24 national outlet stores and a distribution centre in Queensland, with another to open in Western Australia in January next year.

"We understand time is money – our customers’ trucks need to be on the road, not in the workshop," Stanton says.

"When they need a part they know they can count on us regardless if their truck is American, European or Japanese.

"We have more than 25,000 products in stock, and more than 80 per cent of our inventory is held in our branches, which means we lead the industry in parts availability.

"But I believe we can do even better."

Stanton, who took on the current role in October, says he plans to speak to Truckline staff across all the company’s outlets as a first step to planning for the future.

"Truckline employs many of the industry’s most knowledgeable and highly-trained staff, so they are the first people I’ll be talking to, as I work through the network, one branch at a time, to see how we can further develop and optimise our procedures," he says.

"Many of our branches have been established for 20 years or more, and their consistency and first class service has earned them a loyal customer base.

"We’ll be looking at updating facilities where it’s called for and ensuring that we can keep building on the years of excellent work.

"One of Truckline’s great strengths is its people – we have staff with top notch industry knowledge across the fields of fleet, repairs, trade, wholesale, defence, mining and agriculture for the truck and trailer market.

"I’m excited about joining Truckline’s national team and really making a difference by further modernising procedures, while supporting the traditions and people that make this business and industry great."

Speaking about Stanton, Truckline national manager Mick Henderson says the former has been "instrumental" in warehouse and system design and implementation from the ground up.

"Phill is a high achiever and a stayer – in the past 25 years he’s been at senior management level with just two companies in the automotive industry," Henderson says.

"That gives him a deep understanding of how to best optimise a business with very stable foundation like Truckline.

"Phill’s expertise in inventory management and warehouse operation is instrumental in helping us build long term relationships with our customers.

"During the company’s 60 years servicing the Australian trucking industry, we have built a reputation of always finding the right quality part, at the right price, as fast as possible for our customers."
