Fiat Ducato recall over camshaft issue

Certain recent models could suffer cracks

Fiat Ducatos with 2.3 Multijet engines are subject to a recall over possible camshaft weaknesses.

The date range of build is December 19, 2016 and January 10 this year.

"The camshaft could potentially crack while the vehicle is in use due to a non-compliance of the material during production process," the recall notice reads.

"If the camshaft cracks during use the vehicle could stop suddenly, posing a safety risk for the occupants and other road users."

Owners or managers are to be contacted by direct mail.

The vehicles should be taken to an authorised Fiat dealer for an inspection and replacement of the camshaft.
