Issue in torque settings sparks recall of certain models
A recall has been issued of certain Fuso Heavy Duty Euro V trucks due to an issue in the torque settings.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice states that during the production of the vehicles “there may have been insufficient torque settings applied to the bolts fixing the ring gear for the differential.
“The bolts may become loose or detach and cause damage to the differential.
“This would cause the vehicle to be un-driveable, posing a safety risk for the vehicle occupants.”
The owners of the defected vehicles, which were sold nationally across Fuso dealerships, will be contacted by mail.
The regulator recommends consumers to arrange an inspection and repair of the vehicle at their nearest authorised Fuso dealership.
