Truck Drive-In: Fuso brings virtual reality

Fuso will give visitors at the Brisbane Truck Show a unique experience this year, showcasing a taste of the future with a virtual reality setup.

In addition to checking out the latest real-world Fuso models, attendees will be able to immerse themselves in a virtual Fuso showroom, sit inside a range of virtual Fuso trucks and experience a thrill ride that showcases the life-like nature of cutting-edge virtual reality technology.

The Fuso VR program also allows visitors to configure their own truck in a workshop setting. Participants can choose from five Fuso Canter light duty truck models and fit them out with a range of popular truck bodies.

Fuso Truck and Bus Director, Justin Whitford, says virtual reality could well be part of truck showrooms of the future.

“We think customers could certainly benefit from configuring a custom truck and body in a virtual reality setting using this impressive technology,” Mr Whitford said.

“This could allow customers to explore a huge range of different models and various bodies in a way that has not been possible up until now.”

Fuso will have eight VR pods on its stand at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre for visitors to have a bit of fun in.

As for its real-life trucks, Fuso will present its updated Canter range.

The stand will also feature the popular FK Fighter 1224 medium duty truck and the largest truck in its range, the Heavy FV54 prime mover, which features a 12-litre six-cylinder engine coupled to a fully automated transmission.

Fuso staff will also be on hand to talk through a raft of recently introduced customer-focused initiatives including a new five-year warranty program, complimentary first service and a reduction of the price of key Fuso parts by an average of more than 30 per cent.
