Fuso Euro 5 Fighter and Heavy duty truck recall

A recall has been issued of 47 Fuso Euro 5 Fighter and Heavy Duty trucks.

A notice on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) website notes: “On some heavy-duty trucks with rear tandem-axle and leaf suspensions, the shape of the radius rod brackets mounted to the trunnion cross member is incorrect.

“The input from the radius rod during driving may deform the cross member, and the bolts securing the cross member and reinforcement may become loose.

“If the vehicle continues to be used in this condition, the bolts may break and the cross member and reinforcement may crack.

“In the worst case, the fastener for the radius rod may be disengaged from the cross member, which impairs the driving stability, posing an accident risk for the vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Owners are advised to contact an authorised Fuso Truck & Bus dealership for inspection and repair of their vehicle.
