HIno recalls 500 Series models

Up to 1,140 vehicles affected by differential pressure pipe issue

HIno recalls 500 Series models
Hino owners are asked to have their vehicle inspected

The differential pressure pipe in the Hino 500 Series’ diesel particulate reduction (DPR) system may be improperly fixed and is subject to a recall.

The issue affects more than a thousand vehicles sold between April 1, 2018 and April 30, 2019.

"This pressure pipe detects DPR blockage and may be cracked on the fixing point by thermal expansion and shrinkage," the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) explains.

"Exhaust gas may leak, the DPR indicator light may not work properly and vehicle performance may be reduced.

"In the worst case, the DPR system could be damaged."

Hino recently unveiled its new Western Sydney warehouse

Owners should contact an authorised Hino dealer to arrange to have the DPR differential pressure pipe inspected and replaced if required.
