Japanese makes load up on leads

Isuzu and Hino account for almost half of all enquiries made on tippers for sale on Bauer Media Group transport classifieds network

Japanese makes Isuzu and Hino were the most-enquired-upon tippers on the Bauer Media Group transport classifieds network in the in the period January 1-July 31, 2020, exclusive new data reveals.

Almost 700 tipper trucks – from Atkinsons to Whites – are advertised for sale across the network comprising Fullyloaded.com.au, OwnerDriver.com.au, TradeTrucks.com.au, TradeEarthmovers.com.au, TradeFarmMachinery.com.au and TradePlantEquipment.com.au – reaching almost 470,000 ‘unique’ in-market buyers in July alone.

Off the back of 15.8 per cent of stock for sale, Isuzu accounted for 11.2 per cent of enquiries and an out-sized 21.9 per cent of enquiries in the first seven months of the year; followed closely by Hino, which was the subject of 8.9 per cent of searches and 15.4 per cent of enquiries.

Despite accounting for almost 50 per cent of searches, North American makes Kenworth and Mack failed to translate this into enquiries, generating 9.3 per cent and 4.6 per cent of leads respectively.

Swedish brand Volvo, conversely, managed to generate 9.8 per cent of all enquiries off just 3.2 per cent of stock and 6.5 per cent of searches.

Rounding out the top 10 most-enquired-upon tipper makes were: Scania (2.5 per cent of searches; 5 per cent of enquiries); Freightliner (3.4 per cent of searches; 4.8 per cent of enquiries); UD (2 per cent of searches; 2.8 per cent of enquiries); International (2.4 per cent of searches; 1.7 per cent of enquiries); and Western Star (3.4 per cent of searches; 1.5 per cent of enquiries).
