Sums of parts add up

New data reveals most-popular truck parts on the Bauer Media Group classifieds network over the past seven months

 

AN9WT4.jpgBull bars and bumpers were the most-searched truck part on the Bauer Media Group transport classifieds network in the in the period January 1-July 31, 2020, exclusive new data reveals.

More than 7,000 parts – from air cleaners to wheel ends – are advertised for sale across the network comprising Fullyloaded.com.au, OwnerDriver.com.au, TradeTrucks.com.au and TradeEarthmovers.com.au – reaching over 300,000 ‘unique’ in-market buyers in July alone.

Bull bars and bumpers – which comprise 13.6 per cent of parts for sale – generated 45 per cent of searches and 15.23 per cent of enquiries in the period; followed by transmissions and gear boxes, which, despite accounting for just 4.6 per cent of stock, were the subject of almost 14 per cent of searches and 15.9 per cent of enquiries; and axles and suspensions, which notched up 7.8 per cent of searches and 4.6 per cent of enquiries off the back of 1.02 per cent of total stock.

Engines and engine parts, though, were the most enquired-upon truck part in the period, spawning 18.5 per cent of enquiries – despite comprising just 6.5 per cent of searches and 6.6 per cent of stock for sale.

Rounding out the top 10 most-searched truck parts were turntables (6.2 per cent of searches; 2.6 per cent of enquiries); cabs and cab parts (5.9 per cent of searches; 5.3 per cent of enquiries); seats (3.9 per cent of searches; 5.9 per cent of enquiries); exhausts and mufflers (2.7 per cent of searches; 1.9 per cent of enquiries); differentials (2.2 per cent of searches; 1.9 per cent of enquiries); and tool boxes (1.9 per cent of searches; 0.6 per cent of enquiries).
