Enquiries on buses for sale up in year to August 31, despite decline in searches

Enquiries on buses for sale on the Bauer Media Group truck and bus classifieds network were 10 per cent higher in the year to August 31, new data reveals.

Almost 400 buses – from Autobuses to Yutongs – are currently advertised for sale across BusNews.com.au and TradeTrucks.com.au.

In the period January 1–August 31, 2020, enquiries increased 10 per cent on the same time last year, despite searches falling 17 per cent.

Leading the pack was Ford, which experienced an 1,800 per cent increase in searches and a 600 per cent jump in enquiries; well ahead of Nissan (searches
-62 per cent; enquiries +264 per cent), Brahman (searches -6 per cent; enquiries +150 per cent), Hino (searches -18 per cent; enquiries +121 per cent) and BCI (searches -33 per cent; enquiries +58 per cent).

Rounding out the top 10 were Volvo (searches -11 per cent; enquiries -31 per cent), MAN (searches +25 per cent; enquiries +24 per cent), Toyota (searches -8 per cent; enquiries +11 per cent), Higer (searches -29 per cent; enquiries +7 per cent), Isuzu (searches -6 per cent; enquiries +7 per cent), and Mercedes-Benz (searches +1 per cent; enquiries +5 per cent).

Brands to experience declines in both searches and enquiries included Autobus (searches -46 per cent; enquiries -50 per cent), Bonluck (searches -51 per cent; enquiries -92 per cent), Fuso (searches -44 per cent; enquiries -68 per cent), Iveco (searches -9 per cent; enquiries -20 per cent), Leyland (searches -7 per cent; enquiries -44 per cent), and Mitsubishi (searches -53 per cent; enquiries
-21 per cent).
