Daimler Trucks Toowoomba’s latest offerings include four trucks –a demonstrator Freightliner Cascadia 116, a demonstrator Mercedes-Benz Actros 2663, a demonstrator Fuso Fighter 1627 and a new Fuso Canter 515
Last year, Freightliner introduced one of the most advanced conventional trucks to the Australian market – the Cascadia.
Available in 116 and 126 models, Cascadia aims to deliver class-leading fuel efficiency, comfort, connectivity and advanced safety technology. The models feature new-generation Detroit engines that meet US GHG 17 standards using an enhanced selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system and upgraded common rail injection. Engine choices include the new 16-litre DD16 with up to 600hp (441kW) and 2,050lb/ft (2,780Nm) of torque and a new 13-litre DD13 with up to 505hp (377kW) and 1,850lb/ft (2,508Nm) of torque.
The Cascadia is available with either smart DT12 automated manual transmission (AMT) or 18-speed Eaton manual transmission, and a GCV rating of up to 155,000kg for heavy-haulage application.
“The DT12’s creep mode feature helps with low-speed operations – something that drivers have enjoyed and refer to as best-in-class,” Daimler heavy truck specialist Andrew Vaughan says.
Other features include Intelligent Powertrain Management, Detroit Connect Virtual Technician, Detroit Assurance, and Sideguard Assist warning system.
Advanced aerodynamics help improve fuel efficiency while exterior design features improve basic vehicle servicing and uptime.
It is available in 48-inch XT (122cm) and 36-inch (91cm) XT sleeper cabs. Both the truck and the engine have a four-year or 800,000km warranty.

CASCADIA 116 FOR SALE
Daimler Trucks’ Toowoomba dealership has a demo Freightliner Cascadia 116 36-inch XT sleeper cab up for sale. The 70 tonne-rated truck has DT12 AMT, DT13 Detroit motor with 505hp (377kW) and 150-litre diesel capacity tank.
Other features include a Jost turntable, UHF, alloy bumper and Freightliner’s full safety pack.
It comes with the balance of new truck warranty and free basic servicing, including all parts and oils for the first 500,000km or five years – whatever comes first.

ACTROS 2663 LS FOR SALE
The Toowoomba dealership also has a demonstrator Mercedes-Benz Actros 2663 LS Stream Space flat floor 6×4 prime mover for sale.
The 2.5-metre wide Actros has a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 26,000kg and a gross combination mass (GCM) of 80,000kg for standard B-double and 106,000kg for road-train combination.
It is equipped with a 15.6-litre inline six-cylinder OM 473 engine, which delivers a power output of 625hp (460kW) and 3,000Nm of torque.
