Western Stars with DD15 engines in recall

Possibility of fuel leak in certain 2010-2020 engines

Penske Commercial Vehicles has seen a recall issued for Western Star heavy duty diesel powered trucks over fuel leak concerns.

The 2,918 trucks affected contain Detroit Diesel DD15 EPA07/ADR80/03 MY2010-2020 engines.

The issue is that fuel may leak from the engine’s high pressure fuel rail feed lines.

“If a fuel leak occurs, this may cause a subsequent engine fire, which could result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users,” the recall notice issued last month states.

The VIN list of affected vehicles can be found here.

Their owners are advised to contact an authorised Western Star Truck dealer to arrange for the replacement of the two high pressure fuel rail feed lines and supporting hardware.

For further information, owners can contact Western Star Trucks on 07 3271 7777 or find their local authorised dealer.
