Chapman appointed Mack Australia vice president

Six-year veteran with parent firm VGA seen as gaining reward for effort

Volvo Group Australia (VGA) appoints Tom Chapman as Mack Trucks Australia vice president.

Chapman has worked within Volvo Group Australia since 2015 in a variety of roles, ranging from marketing and communications to more recently supporting the VGA retail network working in branded commercial support roles.

The move comes three months after his predecessor, Gary Bone, took on the role of Volvo Trucks vice president, a move which, in turn, came after the promotion of Tony O’Connell to managing director of Volvo Trucks Malaysia

“Throughout his time within the VGA business, Tom has demonstrated an impressive ability to drive change, find solutions and support both our dealers and our customers,” VGA CEO Martin Merrick says.

“Tom’s drive, enthusiasm for the Mack brand, and his commitment to customer success make him perfectly placed to steer Mack Trucks Australia into an exciting future.

“Mack is in excellent hands as our transformation journey continues to take shape here in Australia.

“Our new Australian made Mack range has hit the road with excellent initial feedback from customers driving these trucks for the first time.”

“We look forward to seeing Mack continue to evolve under the stewardship of both Tom and the wider Mack team as we power into a rapidly changing future for road transport.”
