The auction of prime movers and trailers will take place June 22-23.
After 37 years in the industry, Terry Thurwood, founder of Thurwood Refrigerated Transport has chosen to sell his entire fleet with Ritchie Bros., adding his prime movers and trailers to Ritchie Bros. National Unreserved EOFY Auction on June 22-23. Terry, a veteran in the transport industry, has decided it was time for a new chapter.
Based in Swan Hill in Victoria, Terry established Thurwood Refrigerated Transport from just one truck and one flat top trailer into a reputable transport company with a large fleet of late model Kenworth prime movers and FTE & MaxiTrans refrigerated trailers providing efficient logistics services for the fresh produce industry since 1988.
“We have entrusted Ritchie Bros to sell our fleet at the National Unreserved EOFY Auction on June 22-23.”
Ritchie Bros. Regional Sales Manager Cody Watson says these assets are in hot demand with buyers looking to skip the long wait times.
“There remains a very good appetite for transport gear in 2022; with rising prices of new machinery and lengthy wait times.”
“OEMs are not expected to see production return to pre pandemic levels while supply chain bottlenecks continue to slow production on new trucks and trailers. Bidders are encouraged to inspect onsite at Ritchie Bros. Geelong yard which is open for inspections Monday through to Friday and on Saturday, June 18. The event will be held exclusively online with those interested in bidding urged to register to bid before the auction. Day one of the auction (June 22) will be dedicated to construction and crushing gear while day two (June 23) will focus on transportation and agriculture assets.
