With new launches, campaigns and an ongoing boom in transport, gloves were on as top brands duked it out for the top spots.
Isuzu has once again topped the truck sales rankings in Australia, breaking the record for the most trucks sold in a year in Australia.

UD Trucks, Freightliner, Renault and Western Star unfortunately just missed their marks, with ongoing supply issues since the pandemic ultimately proving an issue.
A record breaking total number of trucks over 4,5 tonnes sold again last year, with 47,757 trucks sold in total. This is 3,378 more trucks sold than in the record breaking 2022 total.
The heavy duty sector showed the most powerful growth in 2023, with the market jumping from a record 14,966 sales in 2022 to an even higher 17,569.
Kenworth and Volvo’s infamous battle to the top of the heavy duty ladder ultimately saw Kenworth come out on top.
With 20.8 percent of the of the heavy duty segment, Kenworth reasserted its dominance in the space.
However Volvo proved to be a tough competitor, coming second by a total of 177 trucks.
In the medium duty truck segment, Isuzu once again just missed out on closing in on 50 percent of the sales.
Inching closer each year, the Japanese truck maker achieved a 49.2 percent market share, well up on its 2022 result of 46.4 percent.
Despite a small increase of 122 overall sales numbers, the light duty market still beat out its 2022 figures.
Again Isuzu dominated 45.3 per cent of the market, with Hino returning to its number two slot after slipping to third position in 2022, due to a hiatus on the sales of some models.
