Red light speed camera coming for Hume Highway

A new red light speed camera is set to be installed at the intersection of Hume Highway and Cutler Road in Cabramatta due to an increase in road accidents.

Between January 1 2018 and December 31 2022, 15 crashes, including five serious injuries, were recorded at the site.

The camera will be installed to monitor north-east bound traffic as part of the Saving Lives Accelerated Program.

Installation will begin on May 26, where there will be changed traffic conditions on the stretch of road.

Work will take place over ten day shifts and 14 night shifts from 7am to 5pm and 8pm to 5am six days a week (excluding Saturdays) between 26 May and 26 June, weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to drive to these conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
