The TRATON Group has established TRATON Charging Solutions, to speed up access to charging solutions for its brands’ customers and facilitate the transition of their fleets to battery electric trucks.

The new service offers a range of capabilities, including contracting, invoicing, route planning and utilisation insights.

Petra Sundström, managing director at TRATON Charging Solutions, says charging solutions need to be both accessible and affordable to encourage large-scale uptake of electric trucks.

“Our mission is to connect the best charging locations on the road with the best brands and to help drivers find them.

“In doing so, we provide the back-end capabilities for our brands’ charging services so that their customers can benefit from the best charging access in Europe.”

With the transition to electric trucks gaining momentum, the need for charging outside of home depots is growing rapidly.

Charging EVs can be a challenge for drivers, especially on long drives, because availability of charging locations can be patchy.

TRATON Charging Solutions aims to create a more accessible and hassle-free experience for everyone in the charging network.

The program covers a variety of operators, all of whom run public charging locations.

This makes it accessible to all brands, even those outside of the TRATON Group.

It also allows TRATON’s Scania and MAN brands in Europe to offer their customers access to the continent’s most extensive charging network, which currently comprises eleven countries.
