Northbound heavy vehicles should detour via North Wollongong using Memorial Drive, Princes Highway/Flinders Street, Bourke Street and Corrimal Street to access Springhill Road and Five Islands Road.
This detour will add up to 15 minutes to journey times.
Unless specified otherwise, operators of Class 1, 2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternate route.
OSOM vehicles under the National Class 1 Load Carrying Vehicles Mass and Dimension Exemption Notices can use the available detours if they are suitable for their combination.
Operators are reminded that under Schedule 8 of the Heavy Vehicle (Mass, Dimension and Loading) National Regulation (NSW), there is a requirement for the driver and operator to scope the proposed route prior to travel to ensure it is suitable for their vehicle.
Operators of Class 1, 2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the NHVR.
