As the push to reduce emissions ramps up in Europe, with government decrees setting firm deadlines and emission free zones, it comes as no surprise the Solutrans event has new technology firmly on the agenda.
The bi-annual exhibition, set to attract about 900 exhibitors from across the commercial and urban vehicle sectors, will be presented at EUREXPO in Lyon from November 21-25.
The event’s focus for 2023 is on five main topics: on-board intelligence, urban delivery, retrofit, tyres and new energies.
It’s in the last category that truck manufacturer Volta Trucks will be going large with its presentation of a series production Volta Zero model.
In 2021, the manufacturer presented a demonstrator model on a Petit Forestier stand and shared its dreams of moving towards series production and sales growth.
Volta Trucks CEO Essa Al-Saleh says the business has grown in a big way over the past two years.
“France continues to be one of our key launch markets and has already seen several successful customer trials completed on the streets of Paris,” Al-Saleh says.
“We are keen to continue to engage with industry professionals, fleet operators, and logistics experts at Solutrans to showcase Volta Truck’s commitment to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.
“Solutrans provides us with the perfect platform to demonstrate the benefits of electrification in the commercial sector and how Volta Trucks is leading the way.”
On show, with offers for attendees to organise test drives for themselves, will be Volta Trucks all-electric 16-tonne truck designed for inner-city distribution.
Volta Trucks experts will also be on the stand to answer technical or performance-related questions and to educate local visitors about Volta’s new Truck as a Service offering which offers buyers the chance to access an all-electric Volta Zero, all charging infrastructure, servicing, maintenance, and more, for a single monthly fee.
The 18th Solutrans exhibition comes at a time when France has set ambitious targets of a 90 per cent reduction in emissions by 2040.
Plenary session topics include:
- Retrofitting, an energy mix solution for light commercial vehicles in the city centre
- How to finance my zero-emission truck
- Energy transition, what issue for road haulage and its infrastructure
